Rewind Privacy Policy
Rewind does not store your information on Rewind servers. Audio, clips, transcripts, summaries, titles, and settings stay on your iPhone unless you intentionally share them.

Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Rewind handles information in the Rewind iPhone app and on the Rewind website.
Rewind is designed as a local-first app. The app does not require an account and does not operate a backend service for uploading, storing, transcribing, summarizing, or processing your audio.
Information Rewind Processes
Microphone audio is processed on device only after you start listening. While Rewind is listening, it keeps a rolling local buffer so older segments are overwritten as the selected save window moves forward.
When you save a moment, the clip, transcript, summary, generated title, and related metadata are stored only in the app's private container on your device.
Rewind also stores local settings, such as your save-window preference and whether device authentication is enabled for the Library.
Local Models
Rewind uses local models on your iPhone for transcription and summaries. Your audio is not sent to a cloud transcription, summarization, or AI service.
Rewind may download an on-device model during first setup or when a model update is needed. That download can expose ordinary network metadata, such as IP address, request time, and device or browser metadata, to the download provider and network operators.
A model download does not upload your audio, saved clips, transcripts, summaries, titles, or Library contents.
Website
The Rewind marketing website is static and does not require an account. It is not built with client-side analytics or advertising scripts.
Like most websites, the hosting provider may process standard request metadata, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp, to serve the site, maintain security, and diagnose service issues.
Apple Data
If you install Rewind through the App Store or TestFlight, Apple may provide crash reports, performance diagnostics, and related app analytics when you have enabled sharing that information with developers.
Any Apple-provided diagnostics are used to understand reliability issues and improve the app.
Information Rewind Does Not Store
Rewind does not collect account credentials, contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, or payment information.
Rewind does not store microphone audio, saved clips, transcripts, summaries, titles, or Library contents on Rewind servers.
Rewind does not upload that content to any third-party AI service for transcription, summarization, or analysis.
Retention and Deletion
Rolling-buffer segments are overwritten locally as they fall outside your selected save window.
Saved clips, transcripts, summaries, titles, and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app, delete the app, or erase the device.
Copies that you exported or shared outside Rewind need to be managed in the destination app or service.
Security
Rewind relies on iOS app sandboxing and file protection to isolate local app data. All app-created clips, transcripts, summaries, titles, and settings are kept on device unless you explicitly export or share them.
You can also enable Face ID or device authentication to gate Library access inside the app.
No app or storage system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so you should only save and share audio when you are comfortable keeping that content.
Children
Rewind is not directed to children under 13, and Rewind does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Rewind changes. When it changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
