Can I save something from before I started listening?
No. Start listening before a conversation, lecture, or other moment you might want to keep. Rewind can only save audio captured while listening is on.
Is Rewind always recording?
Only when you start listening. It keeps the last few minutes in a rolling buffer and overwrites older audio. You choose which moments become saved clips, and you can stop listening at any time.
Does it work with my phone locked?
Yes. After you start listening, Rewind can keep listening with your iPhone locked or in your pocket. Listening uses the microphone and battery; stop it when you’re finished.
How much audio can I save?
Choose the last 1, 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes. If you’ve been listening for less than your chosen window, Rewind saves the audio available so far.
Does my audio leave my iPhone?
Your audio is not uploaded for storage or transcription. Transcripts are generated on your iPhone, and you can protect your library with Face ID or your device passcode. An internet connection is needed to download or update the transcription model.
What should I know before recording?
Rewind needs microphone permission. Before recording a conversation, get clear permission from everyone involved and follow the laws that apply to you. Stop if someone objects or you’re unsure.
